LUDACRIS GIVES AWAY 20 CARS

 Talk about a one-man stimulus package: Grammy-winning rapper Ludacris has given away 20 cars to people who wrote about their struggles to keep their jobs for a lack of wheels of their own.Ludacris said he was taken aback after reading thousands of essays by people struggling or unable to buy cars needed to get to and from work or find jobs. The 31-year-old rapper felt he could step in and move them ahead, partnering with a suburban Atlanta dealership for Sunday's giveaway. "People are getting laid off, and now are looking for jobs," Ludacris said. "To be efficient, you need some transportation of your own to get there. That's why I wanted to give back to those who need it." Each of the used vehicles included free gas for 30 days. Winning contestants were responsible for tags, registration, tax and insurance. About 4,000 contestants submitted a 300-word essay to the rapper's foundation, explaining why they deserved a car. One of the most touching stories Ludacris read was by Mading Duor. Duor described how he moved to the United States six years ago after his mother, father, and five brothers and sisters were killed in Sudan. The man also wrote that a son was killed by a drunken driver in Atlanta a few years back. "His story touched my heart," Ludacris said. "He's endured so much in his life and he's still here standing. I'm very proud to have helped him." Duor, 33, has been able to keep a steady job at a school, but each day he felt stressed about how he was going to get to work. No longer. "I'm so happy, that I'm nervous," said Duor, who won a Nissan Maxima. "When I look at my new car, I say to myself, 'Is this really happening?'" Crystal Beauford, a single mother who used to ride the bus to two jobs and school, now has a Saturn Ion. The 26-year-old college student doesn't know how to drive the stick-shift vehicle, but said she'll learn. "This is going to help me out so much," Beauford said. "It's a blessing."

Tila Tequila Got Choked Out By Boyfriend NFL Star....

Shawn Merriman of the San Diego Chargers was taken into custody by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department after an alleged altercation with Tila Tequila. San Diego Sheriff's deputies responded to a call this morning at 3:45 AM. Tila claims she was "choked and physically restrained" by Merriman after she tried to leave his residence. Merriman is accused of battery and false imprisonment. Tila was transported to a local hospital while Merriman was taken into custody. Tila tweeted to Merriman earlier in the day: "RT @shawnemerriman Im on my way to the sports fan in mission valley be there from 2pm to 3:30 see you there." Tila's Twitter page has just been changed to read, "This person has protected their tweets."
The couple had been at Stingaree nightclub in San Diego at around 1:00 AM. They were taken in a roped off area and Tila was seen giving Shawne lap dances all night long. Tila called the cops on Shawne at around 3:45 AM Sunday after he allegedly choked her when she tried to leave his apartment.
Tequila, 27, signed a citizen's arrest warrant, charging Merriman with battery and false imprisonment, San Diego County Sheriff's Lt. Gary Steadman said. Deputies responded about 3:45 a.m. to Merriman's house in Poway, north of San Diego, after a woman called to say she was choked by the player and physically restrained when she had tried to leave, according to a Sheriff's Department statement.
Merriman, 25, was taken into custody. Authorities declined to say whether he had posted bail or been released, pending an afternoon news conference. Tequila was taken to a hospital. Her condition was not immediately available.
Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, is best known for "A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila," which ran for two seasons on MTV. The bisexual dating show featured men and women vying for Tequila's affections. She has also modeled for Playboy and other men's magazines.
Scott E. Leemon, an attorney for Tequila, said in a statement that neither she nor her representatives would comment publicly on the incident.

Merriman's agent, Tom Condon, said he hadn't heard about the arrest when contacted by The Associated Press. Chargers general manager A.J. Smith didn't immediately return a call seeking comment. Merriman was the 12th overall pick out of the University of Maryland in the 2005 draft, and had 39.5 sacks in his first three years. The three-time Pro Bowl selection was getting back into shape after missing nearly all of last season with a knee injury. He played little during pre-season games. The Chargers' season begins a week from Monday night at Oakland.
