Montgomery County police have charged a man with theft and other offenses after he allegedly dressed as a woman last month, entered the Saks Fifth Avenue store in Chevy Chase, slipped a $2,000 Chanel dress into his bag and used pepper spray…
…on a guard as he fled the store. Jonathan Bradley, 20, was apprehended by D.C. police last week during a routine traffic stop in Southeast Washington. He was dressed as a woman, police said. Montgomery detectives had secured an arrest warrant for Bradley on Aug. 10, charging him with theft, malicious destruction of property, second-degree assault and “intent to injure by mace/chemical device.”
It was not immediately clear whether Bradley had a lawyer. He could not be reached for comment. The Montgomery police investigation began July 30, when images captured by the department store’s surveillance cameras showed a broad-shouldered person wearing a dress. The initial police description of the shoplifter was gender-neutral: “A black man or woman, in his/her 20’s, 6 [feet] tall, weighing 160 to 190 pounds. His/her long black hair was worn in thin braids and pulled back. The suspect was wearing a black and white, checkered very short mini-dress with long sleeves and a wide belt at the waist. The shoes worn by the suspect were flat sandals
